Sarlata is a quiet village situated 5 minutes from the local airport and 10 minutes from the capital of the island Argostoli. The closest beaches are situated 5 mins away by car at Minies, Avithos, Ai Heli, or Ammes. The village hosts a small mini-market and in neighbouring villages their are a selection of tavernas. Wider spread their are many places to visit on the island itself. Drogarati Caves and the Melisani Lake are close to the town of Sami a 30 min drive from the village of Sarlata. A great beach there Anti Samos where the film Captain Corelli was filmed. Further north is the village of Fiscardo the only village to survive the earthquake of 1953, the fishing village of Agia Efimia or Assos. Myrtos beach a must for all visitors one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The main town of Argostoli offers you shopping, museums, restaurants and bars, great in the evenings to sit over coffee or a meal and watch the world go by. Sarlata is great starting point for any day out.
